NOW HIRING – PART-TIME MUNICIPAL OFFICE POSITION

The Town of Carthage, Maine is seeking applicants for a Part-Time Office Assistant /Deputy Tax Collector / Deputy Town Clerk position.

This public-facing municipal role includes:
• Customer service and office support
• Vehicle registrations and licensing
• Tax collection and record keeping
• Election and clerk support duties
• Microsoft Office and municipal software use

Applicants should have strong computer, communication, and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Office is required. Municipal office or TRIO software experience is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.

Must be dependable, professional, and able to work in a busy public office environment.

Absentee ballots and ongoing Absentee ballots for the June 9th primary and the RSU 56 vote are available at the town office to vote in person or take home to vote.

Starting May 6th the Transfer Station will be open Wednesday 5 pm to 7 pm and Sunday 7 am to 4 pm.

Town Meeting was held on April 27th at 6:00 pm at the Carthage Town Office in the meeting room. Dave Duguay was elected as the Moderator. Sherman Bradeen was re-elected as a Selectman for a three-year term. Brad Dyer was re-elected to the School Board for a three-year term and Rachel Boyd was elected for a two-year term. It was voted that the offices of the Clerk, Tax Collector and Treasurer would be changed to appointed positions at the end of their term next year. All the articles in the Town Report were approved by a vote of the voters present at the meeting.
